These columns are designed to complement BEH C18 and C8 phases, serving as a powerful tool for HPLC method development. They combine BEH technology with Shield Technology by integrating a carbamate into the bonded phase ligand, which provides alternate selectivity, particularly for phenolic compounds, when compared to straight-chain alkyl columns.
